sneakers

i think its my inner tomboy, but i love sneakers, especially ratty old ones. even though i love clean things, i think sneakers look best when they're worn out. there's something that looks so cool about frayed shoelaces and grass stains. when i was younger i would always buy cream converses and try to dirty them up a bit so they wouldn't look so white (i also doodled all over them, which really irked my parents.) right now i have bright white high tops and i'm thinking of studding them, though i'm indecisive about whether the studs should be silver or gold. i'm also thinking of buying a pair of all black converses next but i can't decide on if i want high tops or low tops.

chilly fall days

Sasha Pivovarova, unknown, Jeanne Damas

current fall inspiration: outfits of green, black and navy, fresh faces, oversized sweaters. fall is my favorite season. i love the crisp weather where its cool enough that you want to layer, but you can still get away with not wearing a heavy winter coat. except currently its fucking freezing and i'm wearing wool socks.

bruises

there's something really interesting about the look of bruises, they're beautiful in a haunting way. i know a lot of people will look at them and automatically see them in a negative way, as remnants of physical abuse, but i guess i'm a little more optimistic and imagine them as traces of some beautiful adventure.

SCHOOL//

While I'm not a big school person, I love the idea of going to some prep school in the 50s or the 70s, where girls wear plaid skirts and knee socks, fresh faces and just brushed hair, boys don their uniforms with a too cool for school kind of way, where  you'd take latin, ap calc, write for the school newspaper and still have time to go to the football game later that night. required reading/watching: the chocolate war, a catcher in the rye, dead poet's society, assassination of a high school president, the virgin suicides...
